Originally spot-welded to the upper inner structure of the W decklid on Split Beetles up to 1952, this bracket plays a vital role in securing the big spring that holds the decklid open. After more than 70 years, the original brackets are often damaged and require replacement.
This reproduction also offers versatility, as it can be used to replace the square bracket on later W decklids, allowing you to convert a late W decklid into an early version. Each piece is produced from sheet metal of the correct thickness, identical to the original.
